Job Description
Senior Quantity Surveyor/Managing QS Required. FBR Recruitment is seeking an experienced and commercially focused Senior Quantity Surveyor and a Managing QS on behalf of a Leading infrastructure electrical company who work within Data Centre sector, to join their growing team. Reporting to the Head of Commercial, the successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing all financial and contractual aspects of projects, working closely with Project Managers and Operations Directors.
This role is responsible for the evaluation, negotiation, management, and mitigation of commercial and contractual risks across projects for the client. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will provide expert commercial advice, identify opportunities for cost savings, maximise commercial benefits across contracts, and ensure effective management of contract variations and claims.
The ideal candidate will have strong commercial awareness, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
Skills & Experience – Essential:
- Proven experience in a Senior Quantity Surveyor or similar commercial role.
- Strong knowledge of contract management, commercial reporting, and cost control.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office packages including Excel, Word, and Project.
- Ability to build strong working relationships across teams and with clients.
Skills & Experience – Desirable:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- A Levels at grade BBC (or equivalent).
- Full driving licence.
- Willingness to travel within Europe if required.
