Steelwork / Cladding Designer Required. An exciting position has arisen to work with a well established modular build contractor based in Dorset within in their friendly design offices; this contractor not only designs but manufactures and installs hi tech buildings to the built environment right across the UK with an outstanding record in both quality and after-care.

Your role will be to produce accurate drawings to cold rolled steel and be accurate with bill of materials for purchasing; also this role involves guiding and managing a small design team of product designers and draught persons.

Key skills:

• In depth knowledge of steel fabrication and cladding.
• Ideally knowledge of designing steel frame or modular buildings.
• AutoCAD and 3D software with advanced steel package (or similar), able to accurately produce drawings to a high standard.
• Ideally Degree or HNC/HND qualified /or similar.

Responsibilities:

• To produce high quality cost effective modular frames design solutions using a mixture of light steel framing, hot rolled steel, timber and composite panel solutions.
• To accurately produce framing bills of materials.
• Occasionally take on the role of project coordinator.
• To manage a small framing design team overseeing design works.
• To cultivate relationships with internal and external sources.
• To incorporate all current legislation, fire compliance, noise, cold bridging as examples.
