Job Description

Mechanical Project Manager required. FBR Construction Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced Commercial Mechanical Project Manager to join a leading MEP contractor on a prestigious office development in Trafalgar Square, in the heart of London.

The successful candidate will join the project during the pre-construction phase, taking ownership through planning, procurement, delivery and final handover. The initial project is expected to run for approximately 42 weeks, with a strong pipeline of secured work scheduled to commence next year, offering the opportunity to transfer directly onto future London projects.

Role Description:
  • Location: Trafalgar Square, London.
  • Project: 5-Storey Commercial Office Development.
  • Start date: 3rd August 2026.
  • Duration: Initial 42-week project with long-term opportunities beyond.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage the mechanical package from pre-construction through to completion.
  • Coordinate design development, procurement and programme delivery.
  • Manage subcontractors and site teams to ensure works are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.
  • Attend client, design and site coordination meetings.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular commercial and operational updates.
  • Ensure high standards of health & safety, quality and compliance are maintained throughout the project.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager delivering commercial MEP projects.
  • Strong background working on office developments or similar commercial schemes.
  • Experience managing projects from pre-construction through to completion.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Valid SMSTS certificate (essential).
