Job Description
Our client is a growing flooring contractor based in the Eastleigh region. They are looking for a Junior / Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team.
As a Junior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role within a young growing sub contractor involving project costs and financial controls. You will work closely with the co director and project team to ensure accurate cost estimation, cost monitoring, and effective budget management. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level professional to gain hands-on experience and grow within a supportive and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of accurate cost estimates for flooring projects.
- Assist in the preparation and evaluation of tender documents and bids.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all cost-related activities.
- Participate in site visits to assess progress and evaluate cost implications.
- Develop proficiency in relevant software tools and systems for cost management.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A construction related qualification (i.e., BSc in Quantity Surveying / vocational qualification / or some experience of in a similar role would be desirable but not essential.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Enthusiasm for learning and a proactive approach to tasks.
- Ability to work well both within a small team.
